A Visit To Ranken Jordan

On March 17, 2009, I had the privilege of going to Ranken Jordan and meeting some of the people that work there. It is a very neat hospital for kids who need special attention.
We got a tour from Janet who is the Director of the Financial stuff.
Some of the specific people I met were, Angie, Janet, Jean, Katherine (not sure on sp), Chrissy, and another girl..not sure the name!! I think that is all, I mean I don’t think I officially met a girl up at the front desk..Janet was at the front desk when we got there because I lady named Annette wasn’t there..when she came out I saw her.
One of the neat things I spotted out was a swing built for kids who have wheelchairs. The child could wheel his or hers wheelchair up there and swing!! It is really cool!! They have an indoor playground and an outdoor playground. They have like a work out room where the kids can exercise, I guess. There is this pool where they get into a pool wheelchair and roll down a ramp and can get into warm water!!

The kids never stay in bed all day…they get up, get dressed, and are busy all day!! Their families come in and spend time with them and can eat with them, etc.!!
On the roof, there is a place where you can go and there is a telescope and they can watch things…then from that small room there are two doors and you can go out either out into the outdoors where they can see planes land, fireworks, and just be outside a bit!!

Everybody that I have met is nice that works there!!

But, besides the neat stuff at Ranken Jordan, think of the children and families. Some of those kids there are well, lets just put it this way…those kids are not like regular kids…their families are probably sad their kids are like this..so, even though you don’t know the children and their families…keep them in your prayers!!

Lu,

It is very sweet that you are thinking of these children and their families. I am glad that you enjoyed your time in St. Louis and were able to meet new people. Thanks for sharing!
